Requirements Testing Methodology

The company success under conditions of the competitive environment is determined by the ability to produce the competitive advantages. As a rule, the sources of the competitive advantages are the managerial skills and willing to innovations. Innovations in the IT companies are always concerned mainly with the processes.

SKYROS corporation developed the requirements testing methodology, which presents the innovation in the software developing process.

The methodology is based on the following materials:

• CMMI®-DEV model ver. 1.2. Process area «Requirement Development»;
• SEP Program in «Requirements Development» course materials by ТЕКАМА;
• GOST R ISO/MEK 9126 – 93.

Applying this methodology made it possible to:

• Reduce by 2.8 times the number of defects concerned with requirements;
• Avoid the costs at fixing the consequences of those requirements defects and to reduce time of software development;
• To discover the risks concerned with the requirements realizability at the earlier steps and to minimize the influence of the risks;
• To enhance the quality of the managerial information;
• To formalize the interaction between test team and analyst team and to estimate their working efficiency.

Eugene Akimov

Bio

In the year of 1991 Eugene has finished the «Applied Math – management processes» department of the Leningrad State University. From 1994 till 2000 has been working as a Test software engineer in the Prolog Development Center (www.pdc.dk) by Dutch. The last 8 years Eugene has been working in the SKYROS Corporation starting the carrier on the position of a software tester and nowadays progressed to the Head of the Quality Assurance Department. Among the key achievements for the working period in the Skyros Corporation there are developing and implementation of the Quality Management System and the company certifying according to the ISO 9001:2000/2008 standard. The last year the main sphere of the department activity is the Software Quality Evaluation model developing.

By now Eugene is finishing his studying in the Open Business School of the United Kingdom (www.obs.ru) by the course of Master of Administration Diploma achievement.

Svetlana Miheeva

Bio

In 2006 Svetlana has finished the Computer Technologies and Informatics faculty of the St.-Petersburg State electro technical University. Since the 3d course Svetlana has been working as a software programmer in the scientific center at the University. Later from the year of 2006 года she started her carrier progressing from the position of a Software Tester in the Skyros Corporation and now Svetlana is a lead specialist in the Quality Assurance department. Svetlana is a co-author of the Software Requirements Testing Methodology which was implemented in SKYROS. By now Svetlana is participating in the developing of the software quality model developing.

Yury Sinkin

Bio

Yuri has finished the Physical faculty of the Moscow State University in 2004 and continued working in the university as a junior research assistant. Since 2006 года Yuri is working in the sphere of Software Testing and has got the test group managerial skills. Yuri has participated in the Software requirements methodology testing.
