With nearly 85,000 members, the IEEE Computer Society is the world’s leading organization of computing professionals. Founded in 1946, and the largest of the 38 societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the CS is dedicated to advancing the theory and application of computer and information-processing technology. The CS serves the information and career-development needs of today’s computing researchers and practitioners with technical journals, magazines, conferences, books, conference publications, online courses and certification programs. Known worldwide for its computer-standards activities, the CS promotes an active exchange of ideas and technological innovation among its members.
The IEEE Technical Council on Software Engineering (TCSE) encourages the application of engineering methods and principles to the development of computer software, and works to increase professional knowledge of techniques, tools, and empirical data to improve software quality. TCSE is involved in the myriad ways that software is designed, developed, managed, and maintained. We have two overriding aims: to contribute to our members’ professional expertise, and to help advance software engineering research and practice.
The Moscow Center of IEEE Computer Society had been established at 1995, and has being based on the Institute of System Programming of RAS (www.ispras.ru). The main purposes of the Moscow Center are as follows:
- promotion of the IEEE Computer Society among qualified, interested, and motivated Russian specialists;
- information support on the Internet of all actual and potential Russian members of the IEEE Computer Society;
- maintenance a library of periodical and other publications of the IEEE Computer Society and provision an access to it for all Russian members of the society.
